Surrendering to the Moment

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” (Leo Buscaglia)

I recently heard that about 87% of our physical ailments come from internal stress and worry.  Our bodies are not hard-wired for stress.  They are actually hard-wired to experience joy, abundance and gratitude.  So the question is, even after knowing all of this to be true, why do I worry that I might not get my house cleaned, call a friend back in time or learn how to navigate my finances?  I’m stubborn, I guess …and a slow learner!  This week, I encourage you all to practice surrendering to the moment.  Know that exactly where you are is exactly where you need to be.  Surrendering can be practiced in responding with “I’ll get back to you” or “Let me think about that”.  It can come in the form of not knowing the answers to a decision you are trying to make and knowing that the answers will come, maybe not in the timing you’d like though.  Surrendering comes when your shoulders drop, your jaw unclenches and you let a deep breath enter your body – and you notice it!  Surrender to this moment. Whatever happens, or doesn’t happen, is ok.  Do not allow one more ounce of joy to be taken from your day!
